![]() ECT must start within 10 degrees of ambient. The EVAP must have the car cold soak for 8 hours prior to the monitor running. i dont know what nevada's restrictions are but here in new york metro area a 1996-2000 vehicle is allowed 2 monitors to be out 2001+ can only have one.ĭustinsuglyhighline wrote:Drive cycle book states all SBEC PCM cars are the same as far as drive cycle goes.Ĭonditions vary based on the Monitor. may need to have the pcm reflashed with a DRBIII at a chrysler/dodge dealer as some monitors will never become "ready". ::side note::some neons depending on year and software update. (sometimes this is a pain) also there was an issue which i have had to deal with. then repeat just to make sure they all go. park the car somewhere and let it cool off. accelerate normally to (dont floor it) 55-65 mph for around 8 minutes or so (depending on traffic) let off the gas and let the car decelerate (without using the brake) to around 40mph or so (again depending on traffic) then slowly build up speed to 55-65 mph for another 3-5 minutes. from a cold start drive normally around town until at operating temperature. try to do this with at least 3/4 tank of fuel (makes the evap monitor pass easier.then dont remove the fuel cap for any reason until the evap monitor passes) typically 10-20 miles should do it for all required monitors.Ī good technique. typically the catalytic converter and the evap system take the longest to pass. Getting an obd monitor to pass depends on the monitor.
